The green selection of forage

GreenSelect is an extension of the ForageSelect program, which seeks to utilize the powerful tool of genomic selection to decrease the impacts of agriculture on climate and environment.



Our philosophy is that it is possible to decrease agricultural footprints on climate and environment without compromising yield. In fact, we go on to suggest that it is even possible to both decrease climate impacts and at the same time earn more money.


How is that possible? Well the answer is quite simple: by improving digestibility we can reduce methane emission from dairy cows and get more milk instead, and by improving nitrogen use efficiency we can reduce N leaching and get more protein into the forage.
