GreenSelect comprises internationally recognized scientific groups with expertise in grass molecular biology, quantitative genetics, advanced statistics, systems biology, genomics and bioinformatics, plant physiology, and plant breeding. The Institute for Genetics and Biotechnology (GBI), Aarhus University is at the forefront in implementing genomic selection in animal- and plant breeding.
While all tasks related to generation of plant material will be conducted by DLF, field trialing will be conducted both by DLF and TystofteFonden. Tystofte will test plant material at different nitrogen levels and the data from these trials will constitute the major input for genomic prediction of NUE. Molecular profiling of all plant material will primarily be performed by AU-CGB and together with DLF the two university groups will calculate genomic estimated breeding values.
